Joseph Crossland

Seen here on the left at the sheds at the back of his home at Barnsley Road is Joseph Crossland who was the father to Bernard (Sonny) and grandfather to Nigel. He had Lyndhurst which are numbers 32 and 34 Barnsley Road built by Schora’s the builders. The blacksmith was ? Hooper.

Kenneth’s father was Jack Fox whose brother was William Fox senior who tenanted Violet Farm. The roof tops in the back are the Farriers. This photograph was taken in the front garden of Orchard House which stands at the top of Brierley Hill. The garden you see was narrowed to allow the widening of the road around 1934.
