Fieldhead Cottage 

The photograph shows Fieldhead Cottage which stood on the land where the present day Brierley Hall car park is now. The cottage was built by the Dymond family in the grounds of Fieldhead House where they lived for many years.  

Past tenants of Fieldhead cottage have been the Steele family, Nurse Jowett and Ralph and Barbara Pearson who tenanted the cottage from 1959 to 1962 when the building and land was bought by the old Hemsworth Rural District Council to make way for the incongruous red brick extension to the Hall that we can see today .
