Brierley Hospital Committee Gala & Sports Day

The gentleman stood on the left was the Coop manager Mr Brookes; his son Connell is the pageboy on the left in front of the vicar the Rev Wright. The Reverend’s wife is crowning the Gala Queen Joyce Ince (nee Crossland). The pageboy on the right of the dray is Arnold Austin. The attendant on the right of the Queen (in front of the vicars wife) is Sylvia Osborne and her other attendant on her left is Ida Weaver (later Swinbank). Eric Nelson provided the horse and dray.
