All this weeks matches in the Charles Rice Sunday league have been postponed.

Women’s Fellowship

The next women’s fellowship meeting that will take place in the Methodist Church Hall will be on Monday at 2pm when the guest speaker will be Edwin Hambleton.

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Sunday Les Parry won the quiz while Shy T came second and won the conundrum. The Head to Head was not won and will be for £45 next week. There will be a disco on Christmas Eve.

Pop In

The next meeting of the Pop in club that is held at the Methodist church Hall will be on Thursday 21 January from 9.15am till 11am. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. Proceeds will be towards Church funds

Village club

There is a quiz night every Monday starting at 9pm.The winner last week was Volvo Phil.

Women’s Institute

The next meeting of Women’s Institute meeting will take place on Wednesday at 6.30pm in Brierley Methodist Church hall.

Boys Brigade

Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meetings restart on Wednesday and will take place in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton will lead the boys.

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Sunday the Deadheads won the quiz while Gary and team came second. Us Thick Ones won the conundrum. The head to head was not won and will be for £165 next week. On Thursday Clair and Mick won the quiz while Rick and Ennis won the nearest too question.  Just Us Two won a bottle of wine.

Methodist Church

The children’s Jam club will be at 10.30am on Sunday morning and the service at 10.15am will will be taken by Mrs D Wheeler. The welcoming steward will be Jean Rowley who will also provide this weeks flowers. There is a karate club on Monday and Thursday at 7pm and the majorettes meet on Thursday and Friday at 4.30pm. A Bible study will take place in the medical centre on Church Drive on Thursday at 7pm.
