Village club

There is a quiz night every Monday starting at 9pm. The winner last week was Malcolm Evans who beat Malcolm Millburn in a tie break.

 

Women’s Institute

The next meeting of the Women’s Institute will be held on Wednesday in the Methodist church.

 

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Sunday Sarah and Mel won the quiz. Mark won the conundrum. The head to head was not won and will be for £315 next week. On Thursday, the Corner Group won the quiz while True Brit won the nearest too question. The Not So Dead Heads won the bottle of wine. Steve Rose will provide the entertainment tonight starting at 9pm.

 

Bollingbroke House

Father Peter Needham will lead a service at the home on Wednesday. He visits every second Wednesday in the month.

 

Grange House

At the Friday night social evening Doreen Smith won the raffle while Audrey Marsh claimed Monday’s prize. Elsie Brazier won on Thursday.

 

Pool

In the Smithies Wednesday night pool league the village club team played at home to the Polish club and lost 4-3. The winning players for Brierley were John Beasley, Steve Hilton and Mark Woolands.

 

Spiritualist Church

There will be Healing in the church by approved healers tonight from 6 till 6.45pm followed at 7pm with a demonstration of mediumship taken by Wendy & Trevor Jones from Wakefield.  There will be a further demonstration of mediumship by Pat Brown from Lincoln on Sunday from 6pm till 7.15pm. The rest of the demonstrators for September will be Norrie Mills from Bradford, David Pinch from Doncaster and Margaret Pearson from Rotherham.
