Methodist Church

The Sunday morning service at 10.15am will be taken by Mr F Bolton. The welcoming steward will be Norma and Charlie will provide the flowers. There is a karate club on Monday and Thursday at 7pm and the majorettes meet on Thursday and Friday at 4.30pm. A Bible study will take place in the medical centre on Church Drive on Thursday at 7pm.The annual church council meeting will take place on Monday at 1.30pm.

 

Village club

There is a quiz night every Monday starting at 9pm. The winner last week was Volvo Phil.

 

Boys Brigade

Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meetings will take place in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the boys.

 

Spiritualist Church

There will be Healing in the church by approved healers tonight from 6 till 6.45pm followed at 7pm with an Open circle. There will be a demonstration of mediumship by Margaret Pearson from Rotherham  on Sunday from 6pm till 7.15pm.

Pop In

The next meeting of the Pop in club that is held at the Methodist church Hall will be on Thursday from 9.15am till 11am. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. Proceeds will be towards Church funds

 

Women’s Fellowship

The women’s fellowship meet in the Methodist Church Hall on Monday’s at 2pm.

 

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Sunday Sharks Table won the quiz while Shy T came second. Andy, Joe and Sam won the conundrum. The head to head was not won and will be for £60 next week. On Thursday, Eric’s team won the quiz and the nearest too question was won by C & J. True Brit will provide tonight’s entertainment.

Women’s Institute

The next meeting will take place in the Methodist Church on Wednesday 14 October.

 

Grange House

At the Friday night social evening Rita Ford won the raffle while Liz Cook claimed Monday’s prize. Kath Hardwick won on Thursday.
