Women’s Fellowship

The women’s fellowship meet in the Methodist Church Hall on Monday’s at 2pm.

 

Women’s Institute

The next meeting will take place in the Methodist Church on Wednesday 11 November.

 

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Sunday Shy Talk won the quiz while the Rolf Harris fan club came second and also won the conundrum. The head to head was not won and will be for £115 next week. Jamie and Sharon won the quiz on Thursday and Four after twenty won the nearest too question. G Fab won a bottle of wine. Tonight’s there will be a karaoke and on Saturday there will be a Halloween fancy dress.

 

Methodist Church

The Sunday morning service at 10.15am will be lead by the Reverend P Sharpe and will be a family and parade service.. The welcoming steward will be Pearl and Dorothy Firth will provide the flowers. In the evening there will be a circuit service at Emmanuel church in Barnsley. There is a karate club on Monday and Thursday at 7pm and the majorettes meet on Thursday and Friday at 4.30pm. A Bible study will take place in the medical centre on Church Drive on Thursday at 7pm.  On Saturday 7 November the  Autumn Fayre will take place at 3pm and will be opened by  Mrs Phyllis Holling.

 

Grange House

At the social evening on Friday, Doreen Moorhouse won the raffle while Rita Sayers won on Monday. Pam Fewster claimed Friday’s prize.

 

Brierley Cubs FC

In the Charles Rice Sunday league, the under 11s cup match was called off. They will take on Royston Dynamos away from home on Sunday kicking off at 0.30am.

 

Village club

There is a quiz night every Monday starting at 9pm.The winners last week were Malc and the Legends. Names are now being taken for the Graham’s taxi pool knockout trophy. The social club members have also decided to add a snooker, dominoes and darts handicap this year.

 

Spiritualist Church

There will be Healing in the church by approved healers tonight from 6 till 6.45pm followed at 7pm with an Open circle. There will be a demonstration of mediumship this Sunday from 6pm till 7.15pm. The demonstrator will be Diane Gardener from Brierley.

 

Pop In

The next meeting of the Pop in club that is held at the Methodist church Hall will be on Thursday from 9.15am till 11am. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. Proceeds will be towards Church funds.
