Women’s Institute

The Women’s Fellowship meets at the Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 2pm

 

Pop In

The next meeting of the Pop in club that is held at the Methodist church Hall will be on Thursday from 9.15am till 11am. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. Proceeds will be towards Church funds

 

Spiritualist Church

Tonight at 6 there will be Healing in the Sanctuary followed at 7 with a demonstration of mediumship that will be taken by Denise Schofield from Rotherham. On Sunday there will be a demonstration of mediumship at 6pm taken by Eddie Wilson from Wakefield,. Demonstrators for the rest of March will be Mary McCabe from Doncaster, Joanne Huckett from Doncaster and David Pinch from Doncaster

 

Village club

There is a quiz night every Monday starting at 9pm

 

Boys Brigade

Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meetings will take place in the Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the boys

 

Grange House

At the social evenings at Grange house Audrey Marsh won the raffle on all three nights

 

Brierley Cubs FC

In the Sunday Millennium league the under 11s played Wincobanck Juniors in the League Cup Final at Oakwell and lost 6-0. The team will play Mexborough Rovers this Saturday away kicking off at 11am

 

Methodist Church

The Sunday service at 10.15am will taken by Mr W Platts and the welcoming steward will be Edwin. There will be a karate class on Monday at 7pm and on Thursday and Friday the majorettes will meet at 4.30pm. There will be a Bible study at the medical centre on Church Drive at 7pm. Today (Friday) is Women’s World Day of Prayer. The Women’s fellowship enjoyed a rally at Cudworth last Monday

 

Spring Tea

Linda Milburn the warden at Grange House has arranged a spring tea for residents and friends on Tuesday starting at 5pm. There will also be bingo and a raffle

 

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. On Thursday Terry & Crew  won the quiz while x bos won the nearest too question. Not Bothered about winning won a bottle of wine. Robin Sole won the quiz on Sunday while Jed won the conundrum. The Head to head was not won and will be for £60 next week.

 

Pool

In the Smithies Wednesday night pool league, the game against Haddon Road club was cancelled. The team will play New Lodge club A team away next week
