Fidling Farm THE FINAL HOURS see also 5th April 2007

Methodist Church

Mrs H Morton will take the Sunday morning service at 10.15am and the evening service at 6pm. The speaker will be Mrs I Scott and the Women’s Fellowship Anniversary will also be celebrated. The welcoming steward for the morning service will be Joan and in the evening it will be Phyllis. The Women’s Fellowship will provide this weeks flowers. The General Church Council meeting will take place on Monday at 6pm.

 

Ladies Recreation

A ladies recreation evening takes place in the Methodist Church Hall every Tuesday night starting at 7.30.

 

Pop In

There will be no Pop in club at the Methodist Church Hall on May 3 due to the local elections. The next one will take place on Thursday May 17 from 9.15 till 11.15. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee and biscuits and a chat. Proceeds are towards church funds.

 

Line Dancing

Line dancing will take place next Monday and Friday in the Methodist Church Hall at 7pm.Entry is £2.50.

 

Women’s Fellowship

The Women’s Fellowship meeting takes place every Monday in the Methodist Church Hall at 2pm. This week the ladies enjoyed readings and prepared for their anniversary, which takes place next week. On Monday there will be a Rally at 3pm and the speaker will be Mrs L Barker.

 

St Paul’s Church 

On Friday) there will be a mass at 3pm and on Saturday there will be a Gift day at St Luke's where the church will be open all day. On Sunday there will be mass with hymns at 9.30am and a further mass on Monday morning at 10am. On Sunday 29 April there will be a Church APCM after the 10am mass. All requests for weddings and baptisms to Father Peter at St Luke’s vicarage on Friday between 6.30pm and 7.15pm.

Town Council

The next meeting of Brierley Town council will be NEXT Wednesday in Brierley Hall at 7pm.

 

Social club

Darts, dominoes, pool and a free flyer will take place at the next games night, which will be on Monday 7th May starting at 9pm.

 

Spiritualist Church

There will be healing in the sanctuary on Friday from 6 till 6.45pm followed at 7pm till 8 with an open circle. There will be a clairvoyance service on Sunday at 6 till 7.15pm taken by Violet Bainbridge from South Elmsall. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

 

Brierley Cubs FC

The under 9s had a magnificent season finishing runners up in the Millennium league. They also played in the cup final at Oakwell on Sunday against Worksop Titans and although Brierley scored first, the game ended with a 4-1 defeat. Goal scorer for Brierley was Ryan smith and the man of the match was goalkeeper Lewis Hinch.

 

Three Horse Shoes

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. The winner of the quiz on Sunday was Les Parry while Andy won the conundrum. The head to head was not won and will be for £50 next week.

 

Boys Brigade

Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meetings take place on Wednesday night in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the boys.
