Fun Night : There will be an evening of fun for all the family with food provided and a short message given by Wayne Ashton at the Methodist Church this Saturday at 7pm . Everyone welcome.

Women’s Fellowship : Reverend Percy Allen and Edwin Hambleton were the guest speaker at last week’s Women’s fellowship. The ladies meet every Wednesday at 2pm .

Social Club : At the Social club quiz night on Monday night, Kevin Elvidge and Volvo Phil shared the first prize of a gallon of beer

Quiz : A quiz night is held in the Three Horse Shoes every Thursday starting at 9.30pm . Last weeks winners were Mick Pointon and Co who won a tenner. There will be a music quiz on Sunday starting at 8pm.

Line Dancing : There will be Line Dancing in the Methodist Church hall on Friday and Monday from 7pm till 9. Everyone welcome.

St Paul’s Church: The Sunday Mass will be at 9.30am . Daily Mass will be taken on Monday at 10am and Friday at 3pm. The services will be conducted by Fr. Peter Needham. Marriage or Baptism enquires to be made to Fr. Peter at St Luke’s Church Grimethorpe on Friday between 6.30 and 7.15pm .

Methodist Church : There will be an evening meeting on Friday at 6pm . The speaker will be Josh Mc Donald. There will also be a leader’s prayer meeting on Saturday at 9.30am . Young People’s Mission will lead a family service on Sunday at 10.15am while the Reverend Terence Keene will take the evening service at 6pm. Welcoming stewards this week are Pearl McQueen and Joan Gomersall. The cleaning stewards will be Richard and Joan Gomersall. Elizabeth Plowman will provide the flowers. The Church Hall has been busy this week with church leaders holding a Holiday club week. (See photograph)

Ladies Recreation : There will be a ladies recreation meeting at the Methodist Church Hall on Tuesday at 7pm .

Trip :Linda Millburn the warden at Grange House will escort a party of 36 on a day trip to Blackpool on the 15 August. Spare seats will be £5 and can be obtained by telephoning Linda on 01226 711221

Boys Brigade : Boys from the Senior and junior section will visit Edale from 14 to18 August under the guidance of Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton. Activities will include abseiling, orienteering, and hill walking and climbing. The Brigade are taking a break for the summer holidays and will return in the second week in September.
