Fellowship

The Rev. P Allen will be guest speaker at the Women's fellowship meeting at 2pm today (Wednesday). Margaret Watson will be pianist

 

Spiritualist

There will be healing in the sanctuary on Friday night at 6pm till 6.45 followed by an open circle at 7pm. A guest speaker will take the Sunday service at 6pm till 7-15pm.

 

Coppins

A few tickets still remain for the Social evening to be held at Coppins residential home on 20 April. Artiste Adam Stark will entertain and refreshments will be provided. Everyone is invited and tickets are £1. Details can be obtained from Pat Homer on 01226 712049

 

Weight Watchers

At the weekly meeting in the Methodist Church hall, the members of the weight watchers lost a total of 35.5 pounds.

 

Garden & Allotment Society

There will be a meeting of the Brierley Garden & Allotment Society on Sunday morning at the Three Horse Shoes at 11.30am. New members will be made welcome. Telephone Barry White on 01226713897 for details.

 

Pool

In the Tuesday night Sam Smith's pool league, the social club played away to the Coronation Club at South Kirby and lost 5-2. Adrian Sheard and Kenny Clarke were the winners for Brierley.

Governor in school

Father Colin White will hold a Governors surgery on Monday morning at 9.30am in the primary school.

 

Social Club

At the Friday night social evening, members of the Tuesday night pool team held an entertainment evening to say thank you to the members for the support they have received from them throughout the season. A disco and artiste were engaged and refreshments were provided. The Sunday night tote was not won. It will be a rollover next week for £!60.

 

Methodist Church

Mr Richard Baxendale will take the Sunday morning service at 10.15am while Mr K Mooney will take the evening service at 6pm. Mrs E Rowley will present this week's flowers. Mrs Janet Baxendale will lead the Girls Brigade on Monday at 7.15pm, and on Tuesday there will be a ladies recreation evening at 7.30pm. Mr Edwin Hambleton and Mr David Parkinson will lead the Boys Brigade Seniors on Thursday at 6-45pm.

 

Grange House

The winner of the raffle prize at the Monday night social evening was Bet Ryalls while Mrs Greenwood won Thursday. Friday's winner was Cath Hardwick.

 

Willowgarth ROA Presentation

The annual presentation of the National Record of Achievement folders to all year 11 students will take place at Willowgarth High School on Thursday 5 April at 1.15pm. Mr Kenworthy escorted a full coach of students to Anfield on Saturday to see the International football match between England and Finland.

 

Audition Night

There will be an audition night in the social club tonight (Wednesday) when three new acts will appear.
