Neighbourhood Watch

Community officer PC Glen Glaves and John Hallows Chairman of the Barnsley Liaison group of the Neighbourhood Watch attended a meeting in the Hillside Tara offices recently where the residents decided to form their own Neighbourhood watch which will be affiliated to the Barnsley Liaison group. They will be based in the Tara offices

 

Social Club

Jeff Ennis won the Friday night quiz and the conundrum while Keith Brown won a gallon of beer. Taffy won the Sunday night tote for £80 with numbers 25 and 27 while Val Turner won the mixed grill. Keith Kenworthy won the Sunday afternoon quiz. This Sunday's artiste is Sly Fox

 

Methodist

Miss E Haigh will take the Sunday morning service at 10.15am while Mrs Hambleton will be organist. The Rev A Brown will take the evening service at 6pm. Mr and Mrs B Ryalls will provide this weeks flower

 

Spiritualists

There will be healing in the sanctuary on Friday at 6pm till 6.45 followed by an open circle at 7pm. On Sunday Susan Dilks from South Elmsall will take the service at 6pm. Only a few tickets remain for the clairvoyance special on the 20 June when international medium Jean Nowell will take the service. Contact Barbara Thompson on 01226 234894

 

Quiz

The winner of the Sunday night quiz for £10 at the Three Horse Shoes was Heather Evans

St Paul's

Father John Baskerville will conduct the Eucharist service this Sunday morning at 9am. Hilary Cooke will read the lesson. Tickets are now on sale from any church member for the Strawberry tea, which will be held on Sunday 15 July at 2pm till 4pm. There will also be a selection of old Brierley photographs on display from the Brierley historic Photographic Society (BHPS and formally Baipip) archives. Tickets are £1.50 and will include strawberries and cream

 

Table Top Sale

There will be a Table Top sale in the Methodist Church on Saturday from 10am till 2pm. The funds will go towards the new Church building

 

Historical Photographic Society

Members of the newly formed Brierley Historical Photographic Society are invited to a meeting in Brierley Hall on Tuesday 19 June at 7pm

 

Partnership

There will be a meeting for the newly elected officials of the Brierley Village Community Partnership in Brierley Hall tonight at 7pm

 

Women's Fellowship

The speaker at the meeting of the Women's Fellowship today (Wednesday) at 2pm will be Miss S Pepper. The meeting will be in the Methodist Church. Margaret Watson will be pianist
